The “palette” ( flip (?), flip-flop (?)), sorry i don’t exactly know how these things are called in english…..
by the way, these “palette” were produced inside the Solari Udine company for all the period that these clocks were made.

For the creations of these “palette”, they started from a huge bar of Aluminum 8 tenths depth…later that bar was cutted in slices and put under a machine that was producing the form of palette.

After that “palette” shape was made, they cleaned them all and coloured the background (usually in black or in white, sometimes for customized versions also in some other colours)….done this step, they were coloured using a “zima” (a kind of industrial stamp) for the period started from 1956 to 1963/1964, after that period was used inside the Solari Udine a xerox machine.

Finally the protected the “palette” by using a protective paint.
